This year the program in Macerata will not run. Committed students in Italian who would like to boost their linguistic and cultural proficiency outside of Princeton this year are invited to contact Professor Simone Marchesi at firstname.lastname@example.org by January 15, 2018, and explore opportunities for summer study in Italy through Princeton-recommended programs. Please put “Summer Study in Italy” in the subject line of your e-mail.
Macerata is a small medieval town near the Adriatic coast, which is twenty minutes away by train. The university, town, and its surroundings afford many opportunities for enjoying cultural and historical sites, as well as varied recreational activities, including hiking in surrounding hills, swimming, concerts and museum going, and shopping. The nearest international airport is Rome, which connects to Macerata via rail or bus service. Please visit the University of Macerata for more information.
If you would like to take a virtual tour of Macerata, you can watch the short documentary, Portrait of Macerata, found below. Shot by David Kong '15, who attended the program during the summer of 2012.
