Novelist, essayist and former journalist, Olivier Guez is the author of The Disappearance of Josef Mengele(Grasset 2017, Prix Renaudot, Verso, 2022) and editor of Le Grand Tour, autoportrait de l'Europe par ses écrivains (Grasset 2022). His books are translated into more than 30 languages. He won the 2015 Deutscher Filmpreis film award (the German “Oscar”) for best screenplay for the film The People vs. Fritz Bauer. The Disappearance of Josef Mengele has been adapted as a movie by Kirill Serebrennikov and will be released worldwide later this year. 

He lives in Rome and teaches at Princeton University this spring, 2025.
