Bio/Description

Profile

Murielle Perrier received her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her teaching and research interests include eighteenth-century literature, contemporary Madagascan culture and literature, and the literacy approach as a pedagogical method. She is the Associate Director of the French Language program in the Department of French and Italian and is responsible for overseeing undergraduate student placement, the graduate student reading proficiency exam. She also participates in the Summer Study Abroad French Program in Aix-en-Provence.

Current Projects

Perrier is currently working on another book project that deals with the representation of the body in contemporary Madagascan culture and literature. 

Teaching Interests

Since 2003 Murielle Perrier has taught and served as head-of-course for different undergraduate classes ranging from beginner to advanced courses in the Department of French and Italian. She is interested in developing the language program curriculum using the literacy approach in the classroom.
