Profile

Isabelle Chen is a fifth-year PhD student in the Department of French and Italian. She graduated with a B.A. in French, English and Creative Writing from Wellesley College in 2017, before moving to Perpignan, France, where she was a Fulbright English teaching assistant and part-time carillonneur. Her dissertation analyzes French-language migration literature through literary and sociological theories of translation; her other research interests include children's literature, Asian diaspora literature, and the politics and trends of the trade publishing industry.
