Clément is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Department of French and Italian.
Born and raised in Montauban, France, Clément spent two years in classes préparatoires littéraires in Paris before completing a B.A. in Theatrical Studies and French Literature at Sorbonne Nouvelle University. He then graduated with an M.A. in Theater at Sorbonne Nouvelle and École Normale Supérieure. His thesis focused on the autofictional aspect in Jean-Luc Lagarce’s plays and diaries.
After working as an actor and a French teacher, Clément obtained a second M.A. in Comparative Literature. His thesis, by discussing the life writings of Annie Ernaux, Paul B. Preciado, and Garth Greenwell, aimed at queerizing the notion of transfuge de classe.
Additionally, Clément is the co-editor of Écriture de soi-R, an online journal dedicated to the different autobiographical representations in Literature and Arts.
