In the words of the administration: “The COVID Award program recognizes staff members who have exhibited extraordinary and exceptional contributions and performance, above and beyond expectations, to support the University’s needs resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID Award is intended to thank this small number of employees who stand out in how they have worked tirelessly to respond to the unprecedented needs of this public health emergency.” In nominating Hill for the award, the Chair of French and Italian, Thomas Trezise, emphasized her crucial role in sustaining the entire Department over an extensive period. “Sena is already stellar in normal times. But since COVID descended upon us, she has demonstrated truly outstanding forethought, efficiency, dedication, courage, and generosity. It is a privilege to work with her.”
