L'Avant-Scène presents "Roberto Zucco" (1988) by celebrated French playwright Bernard-Marie Koltès, directed by Florent Masse , and performed at the Whitman College Class of 1970 Theater.
The production features students Nick Shashkini 21, Jianing Zhao 20, Jane Sul 20, Julien Laks, Elyssa Schaeffer GS, Jivahn Moradian 20, James Facon 21, Helena Van Brande 19, Anatole Grieu 21, Tommaso Buso 21, Jason Qu 21, Danielle Stephenson 20, Mathéo Malik and Sara Anjum 19. Roberto Zucco, a character based on an actual serial killer, exalted by Bernard-Marie Koltès's words. A murderer without a motive, he decimated his own family, killed innocent citizens, and executed policemen. On his quest to find himself, he meets a rebellious young girl with no identity, who falls in love with him: la Gamine. Her rage will lead her to lose herself for him in a place with the fateful name of Le petit Chicago.
