Join us for a conversation with Sandy Ouvrier, Director of CNSAD, Paris National Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, and Macs Smith FIT PhD `18 (University College, London). Sandy Ouvrier will share details of her vision at the helm of the Paris National Conservatory, where She has served as Director since July 2023.
Prior to becoming Director of CNSAD, Sandy Ouvrier had taught there for 15 years. She often visited Princeton with her students at the Conservatory and by herself to offer Princeton students master classes.
Macs Smith was an active member of L’Avant-Scène from 2013 until 2018. In 2016, he co-taught the Global Seminar in Paris and Avignon with Florent Masse. Since becoming a French professor in England, he has taught French theater workshops and included theater practice in his research and teaching.

Macs Smith is a Lecturer in French and Francophone Studies at University College, London. He is currently writing a book on rehearsal in contemporary French theatre. In his previous position at the University of Oxford, he created a course on acting in French modeled on his experiences from L’Avant-Scène. His first book, Paris and the Parasite, drawn from his Princeton Ph.D. thesis, was shortlisted for the Gapper Prize in French Studies. |
