The Department of French and Italian presents Valérie Loichot, Professor of French and English, Emory University, Memory Indigo: Sacred Aesthetics in the Greater Caribbean.  Zooming in on indigo, this talk explores the links between materiality and the sacred in literary and visual creations by Édouard Glissant, Patricia Donatien, Victor Anicet (Martinique), Edouard Duval Carrié (Haiti-U.S.A.), and Radcliffe Bailey (U.S.A.).
